Where to send requests
Send official requests to legal@wrote.sh and address them to Wrote.sh "Wrote Messenger". Identify the agency, requesting officer, official email address, case number, jurisdiction, and a publicly verifiable agency telephone number. This guide does not replace legally required service procedures or determine whether a legally binding order is valid.
Verification and legal review
We verify the requesting authority and authenticity of legal process through independently obtained official contact information. Include the signed legal process, legal basis, specific account identifiers, requested records, and a narrowly defined date range with time zone.
We reject fraudulent requests and seek clarification of incomplete or unsupported demands. Where appropriate, we may challenge unlawful, overbroad, or disproportionate demands. A request alone does not authorize disclosure.
Available information and encryption
Depending on the account and records actually retained, available account information may include an email address, phone number, and IP-related records. We disclose only information lawfully available and required or permitted under applicable law, following verification and review. We do not create records that do not exist.
Do not assume that all Wrote data is end-to-end encrypted. Public profiles, posts, support submissions, and service metadata are distinct from encrypted communications. For communications protected by end-to-end encryption, Wrote cannot provide plaintext when it does not possess the decryption keys. Consult the Privacy Policy for the categories of information processed. We do not publish individual users’ logs, identifiers, or request records on this website.
Urgent threats to life or safety
For a credible imminent threat involving terrorism, violent extortion, or a risk of death or serious physical injury, put URGENT in the email subject. Explain the specific threat, affected people, why immediate action is necessary, and the legal basis for any emergency disclosure. An allegation or group name by itself does not establish an emergency.
Wrote staff target initial review within 24 hours for verified urgent requests. This is an operational target, not a guarantee of response or records production. Disclosure requires an applicable legal basis and staff verification. This mailbox is not an emergency dispatch service; contact local emergency services for immediate danger.
Do not mark routine requests URGENT. Requests that do not establish an emergency enter the normal review queue.
Scope and follow-up
Use secure official channels and provide only the information necessary to evaluate the request. Do not send passwords or login codes. We may request additional verification and communicate about scope, legal objections, or a suitable delivery method before producing records.
